The prompt
product-description-that-converts
You're writing the product page for a WooCommerce store. Here's the raw input from
the merchandising team:
PRODUCT: [Merino wool crew socks, 3-pack]
RAW DETAILS: [80% merino wool / 20% nylon, machine washable, sizes S-XL, made in
Portugal, $34 for 3 pairs]
WHO BUYS THIS: [people who've tried cheap synthetic hiking socks and got blisters or
sweaty feet, shopping mid-range, not luxury]
BRAND VOICE: [straightforward, a little dry, no exclamation points]
This is a $34 mid-range product. Copy that oversells it as luxury ("indulgent",
"elevate your everyday") reads as dishonest next to the price, and copy that
undersells it as generic ("comfortable socks for everyone") loses the
differentiation that justifies the price over a 6-pack of cotton socks at the same
cost.
Write, in this order:
1. A one-line subheading stating the specific differentiator (material plus use
case), not a repeat of the product name.
2. A 2-sentence opening addressing the exact pain point in WHO BUYS THIS. Assume
they've already tried and been disappointed by a cheaper alternative.
3. 5 benefit-led bullets, each pairing one spec from RAW DETAILS with the concrete
outcome it produces (for example, "80% merino wool: regulates temperature so feet
don't sweat on a 6-hour hike," not just a "warm" claim).
4. One paragraph pre-empting the single most likely objection at this price point for
this category. For socks, that's almost always "why not just buy a 6-pack of
cheap ones", so answer it directly instead of dodging it.
5. One add-to-cart line with real urgency, only if RAW DETAILS actually supports it.
Otherwise omit this line rather than inventing false scarcity.
Replace the bracketed product details with your own.
The instruction to name and answer the specific objection, not a generic “why buy from
us” paragraph, is what makes this read like a copywriter who understands the category,
rather than a template with the product name swapped in. Pairs well with
StoreAgent for running this across a full catalog import.
Pro tip: if you can’t honestly fill in a compelling urgency line without inventing
scarcity, leave it out entirely. A missing line converts better than an obviously fake
countdown.
